YouTube Becomes Even More Giant With 1 Billion Subscriptions
Less than 8 years ago, if you wanted to check out the newest music video of your favorite artist, you had to go to their official site, and wait until their video to load (which usually was in a very poor quality format). That was in the best case scenario. In the worst case scenario, the new music video you wanted to watch migh not even be there at all.
If you wanted to see some shocking video you couldn’t see in its entirety on the news because you were skipping through channels and accidentally found the very last seconds of something that called your attention, you were lucky if you found it on the Website of the channel on which you watched the video.
That’s history now.
If you want to watch absolutely any video of the world, it might appear first in YouTube than any other place or TV channel.
It’s no wonder then that YouTube is celebrating having more than 1 billion subscriptions.
In their official blog, YouTube announced that MachinimaSports is the billionth user.
Therefore, to celebrate the event, YouTube has released a widget that video-makers can embed in their sites. The widget will allow people to subscribe to channels even outside YouTube.
The code to embed the widget on your site can be found on YouTube’s blog.
