Posted On 31 Oct 2014
The charge of 0.5% on purchases paid by credit card will be appreciated in a subsequent statement to the purchase.
The tax went into effect on October 28, which is applied to loans made in financial institutions controlled by the Superintendency of Banks, including credit card purchases.
The Internal Revenue Service (SRI for its Spanish acronym), through a statement, said that the 0.5% does not apply to credit card update payments, but only in rotary and deferred credits. In contrast, in banks, the charging of that rate parallel way to the credit delivery.
The 0.5% tax is used to finance the comprehensive cancer care.
