Mining Chamber believes that the law is incomplete
The Chamber of Mines of Ecuador (CME), welcomes the decision of the national government of transparenting how will be the negotiation with investors of mining projects that occur in the country.
However, the CME believes that the mining law is incomplete, since Decree 475, issued on October 27 of this year, only rules mining of large scale, said the vice president of the guild, Andres Ycaza.
According to Ycaza, the government must issue a new regulation for small and medium mining, and also for the artisanal, which are the forms contained in the amendments to the Mining Act and are in force since June last year.
The mining sector is waiting for a new regulation, which allows investors to know what are the processes for mining investment in Ecuador.
According to government authorities, the regulation would be ready for next month, the union representative said.
