14,000 establishments will deliver the Family Protection Bonuses

The beneficiaries of the Family Protection Bonus (BPF), created from the coronavirus emergency declaration (covid-19), now have 14,000 points where they can withdraw with the state aid of $ 60.

This was announced by the Government Minister, María Paula Romo, on April 16. The figure corresponds to the 10,000 points that were already providing the service and another 4,000 more that were integrated yesterday morning.
The mission of financial aid is to protect the most vulnerable families in isolation. The bond began to be delivered from April 1, 2020 to 400,000 citizens. For May, the Executive expects that the support will reach another 550,000 families.
This economic benefit that the Government offers can be withdrawn in public and private banking agencies and in the points of non-financial correspondents such as Mi Vecino, from Banco del Pichincha, and in Banco del Barrio, from Banco de Guayaquil.
In this way, the State prevents crowds and prevents beneficiaries from going to financial entities, as one of the main measures to prevent the spread of covid-19.
The 10,000 points that were initially authorized corresponded to “neighborhood stores, places where there is a food store and which are open following the provisions of the COE (Committee for Emergency Operations),” explained the Minister.
The 4,000 new agencies are part of commercial premises that do not sell food, but other types of merchandise and products.
However, the official clarified that the service must respect the curfew schedule from 14:00 to 05:00 that is met every day.
“It is better that they go to their own neighborhood store and thus avoid crowds,” suggested Romo.
The amount that is delivered to each citizen amounts to $ 60 and, as confirmed by Minister Romo, from May it will also be distributed to another 500,000 extra beneficiaries.
Within the new provisions, the State representative also added that the retirement pension payments of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) will have to follow a schedule.
“People who receive their retirement receive it in their personal accounts, but they can also collect it directly from the banking agency with a schedule,” said Romo.
As explained by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) until April 10, the BPF was delivered to 50% of its beneficiaries.
The bonus is part of the path taken in health and social protection. The State also provides other aid with the Human Development Bonus, the Senior Citizens Pension and the Pension for People with Disabilities.
False Call Penalties
Of all calls received by the ECU-911, as officially reported, at least 50% of these are false.

Prior to the health emergency, the punishment for making false calls to the protection service consisted of the suspension of the service, but it has been decided not to do so to avoid interrupting communication due to the crisis.
