UEES Clinic has authorization to care for patients with covid-19

The university clinic of the Espiritu Santo University, UEES Clinic, will attend patients with covid-19 from this Thursday, April 16, 2020 , as reported by the Vice President of the Republic, Otto Sonnenholzner , who visited their facilities and issued the operating permit provisional, endorsed by the Agency for Quality Assurance of Health Services and Prepaid Medicine, ACESS.

“This will allow to decongest the public health system and save more lives. I thank and congratulate the staff of this educational center, they have been proactive from the beginning and have understood that this crisis is the opportunity to help, do and add strength, “emphasized the second president.
Likewise, the UEES chancellor, Carlos Ortega , reported that in the place “11 patients and four in the intensive care unit can be attended simultaneously, with the possibility of doubling their capacity immediately, if required” .
This medical unit complies with all technical regulations and has x-ray, electrocardiogram, and qualified human talent services.
In addition, the UEES performs tests for the detection of covid-19 with the delivery of results the same day. From the next one they will expand their capacity to carry out between 150 and 200 daily tests.
The vice-president also announced that together with the Municipality and the Guayas Government , in the canton of Samborondón, the brigades will begin to reach the homes of the population with food, fumigation and medical attention. “For patients who need oxygenation, a coliseum was enabled in the cantonal head,” he added.
Governor Pedro Pablo Duart, Mayor Juan José Yúnez, among other authorities, were also on this tour.
