21 police officers are released from the National Police
The National Police of Ecuador withdrew 21 uniformed from the institution for being linked to criminal acts.
The Ministry of the Interior, José Serrano, signed the Ministerial Agreement to make effective the separation of the police officers.
In this fourth depuration phase, 4 of them were involved in proceedings for theft, 4 for robberies, one for rape, two for illegal possession of weapons, 2 for lesions, one for drug trafficking, one for concealing stolen goods, 1 for murder, 2 for homicide, 1 for sexual harassment, 2 for conspiracy to extort, 1 for conspiracy to steal, 2 for accomplices of rape, one for prisoner´s escape, 1 for extortion, one for indecent assault; totaling 27 cases, because 6 of the police officers are accused for 2 processes.
In 2013 were 208 the police officers that left the institution; in June of 2014 were expelled 322. Also in September of this year 5 police officers involved in a drug trafficking band were discharged.
