Two new public hospitals and the regeneration of one more will be a reality in 2019. Between March and May of this year, the Procurement Service (Secob for its Spanish acronym) contracted the execution of those projects required by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), at a cost of $ 88’447,343.28.
Contracts for the new hospital units – the first of this year – were awarded directly, through special regime processes.
The Secob reformed this year’s Annual Procurement Plan to include these works and guarantee resources within its planning budget.
The construction of five other hospitals is planned for 2017 and 2018, these will be located in Manta, Bahía, Chone, Pedernales (Manabí) and Quinindé (Esmeraldas). (I)
