Toshiba introduced the first 3D TV screen that doesn’t require especial glasses this Monday.

Toshiba informed the TV is for individual use due to its size (it will only come in 12 and 20 inch presentations). Toshiba uses tiny glasses, which direct the screen light to 9 spots in front of the TV set.

“The result is the projection of a high definition tri-dimensional image that can be seen from any angle inside the viewing zone,” said Toshiba in its press release.

Some are skeptical about the acceptance of this TV set because viewers have to be 65 cms away from the TV in order to experience the 3D image on the 12-inch version and 90 cms in the 20-inch TV. This technology is not advanced enough to be applied in bigger size screens yet.

The 3D Toshiba TV screens will be out for sale since the end of December in Japan. The smaller version will cost $400 and the bigger one $800.
