Google Has 2076 Job Offers

“We’ve been intensifying our recruitment and the number of job offers over the past year,” wrote Jordan Newman, a spokesman for Google—its main office is located in Mountain View, CA— in its official corporate blog.

According to a Reuters article, the giant search engine has in its employment portal 2,076 job offers—half of those offers are in the United States, most of them are full-time positions in sales and engineering—. Google registered more than 23,300 employees by the end of September.

It seems controling about two-thirds of the global search market in the Internet is not enough for Google; the company is also entering the market of mobile phones (Android) and online advertising (AdSense). It is rumored that the search engine feels threatened by Facebook’s “talent hunting”—the developer of Google Maps now works for Zuckerberg—which is why the 10% salary increase—scheduled for 2011—for employees has been considered by many as an effort to retain them in their offices.
“We’re growing all the time, and we need more engineers to encourage this growth. Submit your application,” Google tweeted.
