Leslie Nielsen Dies at 84

Leslie Nielsen died yesterday’s afternoon at the age of 84 and I ‘m serious…and don’t call me Shirley—signature phrase of Nielsen—.

The Canadian actor passed away near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, surrounded by his “lovely wife and friends”. After 6 decades of acting career, pneumonia complications claimed the life of the star of Airplane! and The Naked Guy.

Leslie Nielsen began his career in the 50’s, when he moved to New York and trained at the Playhouse, he spent 60’s and 70’s bouncing between the big and small screen. Until in 1980 the Zucker brothers offered him the role of a lifetime in Airplane!

He made his last appearances in the Scary Movie Franchise in 2000 and 2001.

He will Shirley be missed.
