Free Approval of Foreign Degrees

It is not necessary to pay between $ 3,000 and $ 10,000 in order to have an approved foreign degree. The National Secretariat for College Education (Senescyt) shall attend the procedure.

To accept the degree it will be a list of the world’s most prestigious universities. If the university does not belong to any of the universities in the list, the Senescyt will create a commission with council´s representatives, who will assess the relevance and quality of the degree in order to recognize it.

A third mechanism will be the recognition of degrees from universities with which the Government has agreements such as: Chile, Peru, and Cuba. For this the students will deliver some documents to support their classroom attendance.

If the title is not recognized by any of these mechanisms, Senescyt will approve the 80% of the syllabus in a similar career in Ecuador.

Students will have to present the degree, an application, and personal documents. Degrees that will be registered are the technological, and universities that gives master and postgraduate degrees.
