Air Security Operative Inaugurated
Yesterday was inaugurated the air security operative which will overfly Guayaquil and Guayas province for 12 hours per day, from 6:00 until 18:00.
Police and the National Commission of Land Transport, Traffic, and Road Safety (Cntttsv) are working together in order to fight against crime in the city and also control the traffic chaos.
One of the helicopters which will overfly the city, a Robinson R44, took off the runway before10:00 on Monday to begin with the operation. While the other unit, MD-530F Mc Donald, will start its functions within a month, because is currently being repaired for a problem in the turbine.
Ricardo Anton, executive director of the National Commission of Land Transport, Traffic, and Road Safety (Cntttsv) announced that the two helicopters would not overfly the city at the same time, one will remain parked in order to give support to the other when a warning signal get activated.
In all the flights a vigilant will also travel inside the helicopter to report the streets that are having traffic.
According to the Chef of the “Unidad Aeropolicial”, Neyber Jiménez, keeping the helicopters in the air for 12 hours per day, will cost over three million dollars annually, “we are talking now with “Cntttvs” to see how we should finance these budgets,” said.
