New deputy Judge was selected for El Universo case

At 15:00 yesterday, the Judicial Council of Guayas selected Monfilio Serrano Ocampo as the new deputy Judge for the Second Criminal Chamber of Guayas, where the sue of President Rafael Correa against El Universo newspaper remains.

The chosen judge will replace for eight days period time to the president of the Chamber, Primo Diaz Garaicoa. This is because the judge will replace in that time to the President of the Court of Guayas, Maria Leonor Jimenez. From yesterday Díaz changed his office.

The judge Jimenez is on a leave of absence for a relative’s death.
