Fernandez, Morales and Mujica, the first to arrive to funeral of Chavez
The funeral of the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, will take place next Friday with the presence of about ten heads of State, said Foreign Minister Elías Jaua, after receiving at the airport Simon Bolivar in Caracas, the Presidents of Argentina, Cristina Fernández; Uruguay, Jose Mujica; and Bolivia, Evo Morales, they were the first to arrive for the funeral.
Jaua said that “a Venezuela with Presidents friends and allies all over the world, a Venezuela respected and loved by all the peoples of the world and almost all of the Presidents of the world’s Governments is another legacy that leaves us Chavez and we have to take care of us”.
Meanwhile, this morning, the remains of Hugo Chavez were transferred from the hospital where he died yesterday to the military Academy in Caracas, accompanied by thousands of supporters who took to the streets to give a last farewell as the coffin covered with the flag of Venezuela and adorned with flowers traveled on a car escorted by members of the presidential honor guard to the rhythm of a military band.
Vice President, Nicolas Maduro, who will preside over the funeral, will be responsible for taking over the Presidency of the country, until the general elections that have to take place within 30 days, in which he will be the candidate of the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela, founded by Chavez, said Foreign Minister Elías Jaua.
