Ecuador vs. Paraguay, today

Today the Ecuadorian soccer selection will play against Paraguay, who remains in the bottom of the scoreboard, at 16:00, in the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium. If Ecuador wins and get the three points, it will continue to be undefeated as local in this round (won against Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and Chile), will reach 20 points and, in the absence of 6 dates, will be only a step away to secure its ticket for the World Cup Brazil 2014.

Paraguay will face this game with the pressure of being one foot out of the qualifying round. The selection lost in recent days for injuries of Oscar ‘Tacuara’ Cardozo one of their strikers, Marcos Cáceres and Lorenzo Melgarejo.

Another fact to be highlighted is that the selection of Paraguay has never beat Ecuador in a visitor condition in the playoffs.

The Ecuadorian selection is going through one its best moments since the era of Rueda. It has played 8 consecutive games without losing, between official and friendly matches. The last defeat that Ecuador suffered was on June 2nd of 2012 against Argentina.
