North Korea goes nuclear
The announcement made by North Korea of rebooting an operating nuclear reactor, that was turned off in 2007, against the resolutions of the United Nations (UN), which prohibits any nuclear program, this not only increase tensions in South Korea but in the international community as well, which also condemns such actions.
Meanwhile, the North Korean regime has repeatedly rejected the warnings from the United States and South Korea, who has made several announcements to conduct nuclear attacks. This decision was taken after a successful launch of a long-range rocket. The Security Council of the United Nations set new sanctions to North Korea, but this has not submitted to them and instead said it was annulling the armistice signed with South Korea, and ended by declaring that they are in a “state of war.”
On Tuesday, North Korea announced that it is in the process of “readjustment and recovery” of all their facilities at the Yongbyon nuclear complex, it also includes a uranium factory and a five-megawatt reactor.

With the imminent threat of war of their hostile neighbor, South Korea reported immediately that they will counterattack any North Korean aggression. Park Geun-hye, the South Korean president, warned of the increasing tensions between the two nations. While several U.S. media have been ordered to move a destroyer with the ability to intercept and destroy missiles with a mobile platform that has radar as a respond to the threats from North Korea.
“If there is a provocation against South Korea and its people, we must have a strong response (…) without any political considerations,” said President Park yesterday to the Defence Minister and senior officials during a meeting.
Now South Korea has changed its rules of engagement to allow local units respond immediately to potential attacks, instead of waiting for the authorization of Seoul.
Meanwhile, China said this Tuesday they “regretted” the decision by North Korea of its intention to rebooting a nuclear reactor that was turned off in 2007 despite UN resolutions that forbid it, and asked, “moderation“.
