Cantinflas finally will have his biopic

The film about Mexican comic genius, Mario Moreno Cantinflas, directed by also mexican, Sebastian del Amo, will begin shooting in the upcoming months and already has its cast.

Spanish actor Oscar Jaenada, 38, has the lead role in the film. According to the director, Jaenada besides having a striking resemblance to the Mexican icon, showed great histrionics in his performance during the casting. However, recognizing that there are two “contrasting personalities” between the actor and Cantinflas.

The production will have a budget of $ 3 million. The screenplay, which took over two years to be complete, will discuss the life of legendary Mexican actor, from its beginnings as a tent comedian during the 30’s, until his arrival in Hollywood in 1957, where he became friends with figures  like Liz Taylor.

The actor Roberto Sosa, wiil play the role of Agustin Lara, while comedian Adal Ramones will perform as Fernando Soto, known as Mantequilla (Butter).
