Mayor of Guayaquil comments on his possible candidacy and Correa

Jaime Nebot said that the president, Rafael Correa, should “not be a sour loser” for his possible run for the re-election, since both have three periods in their respective positions.

“There’s no need to get cut up because those who get fed-up’ loose. One cannot say that if some thing benefits me I agree and if something does not benefits me I disagree. That’s being a poor loser and the brain starts to malfunction,” said Nebot during the opening of a market in the city.

The mayor’s comment was in response to the message given by Correa in his latest Saturday broadcast where he questioned Nebot’s third campaign and he raised the possibility of reelection despite he previously said he would not.

On the generational relief for the Mayor of Guayaquil that Correa requested, Nebot simply replied saying that the regime leader should have said the same in the ALBA meeting to his “friends (the presidents) Fidel Castro (Cuba) which has 55 years in power, and Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua) with 30 years.”

“So take heed the ones that decide the relief is the people, like it or not,” said the Mayor eventually.
