Mexico continues adding victims because of Ingrid and Manuel

Dozens of states in Mexico, in the last three days, have been hit by the torrential rains, product of the combination of Hurricane Ingrid and Tropical Storm Manuel, generating, so far, about 40 deaths and 230 000 homeless across the country.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), just yesterday, Ingrid was downgraded to a tropical storm and made landfall in La Pesca, a port in the state of Tamaulipas (northeast). The resort of Acapulco has the highest number of deaths and is under the water.

The governor of the coastal state of Veracruz announced that 12 people died due to a landslide. The number of fatalities would be constantly on the rise as more bodies are recovered.
