Bunker with alleged oil waste is found

Galo Chiriboga, State General Attorney, announced that the laboratory samples collected in Center Sacha field, in the province of Orellana, will be analysed. Last Wednesday was found a bunker, which was built about 30 years ago and would contain alleged oil waste.The bunker is a kind of vault with 30 meters and ‘2 thousand square meters of diameter’ and was in the midst of a mesh enclosure, covered with weeds and water lagoons.
Petroamazonas will treat the water collected from the Lakes on the surface of the bunker, to distribute it in the wells of the Napo River.
Chiriboga indicated that the proceedings will determine the content and if it was built based on technical and environmental standards for the storage of waste oil. The investigation also seeks to determine which company built the bunker.
