With 700,000 customers, new Produbanco started operations in the country yesterday.

The consolidation between both financial institutions was conducted from Thursday 9th to Saturday, October 11, in order that all products and services, the branch network and ATMs run from October 12 as a single organization.
The sale of the majority stake of Produbanco to the Centro Americano Promerica Financial Corp. group (PFC), which began in late 2013, and concluded yesterday, began operating a single financial institution in the country.
The brand began working with $ 3900 million in assets and 107 offices nationwide that will serve 700,000 customers, which positions it among the top three banks in the country, according to Ricardo Cuesta, CEO of Produbanco.
After the purchase of 56% of the shares of Produbanco by the Promerica Group, the Superintendency of Banks approved the consolidation process of the two entities thataccording to Cuesta, it implied to assume all assets and liabilities of the former Banco Promerica within the balance of Produbanco.
In the new Produbanco the same assigned account numbers in the extinct Promerica will be maintained. In addition, the same checks format will be used until current customers checkbooks of former Promerica bank are exhausted. Visa and Mastercard credit cards the Promerica bank emitted, will have a short interruption due to the change of plastic.
