Familiar content shows could only be transmitted from 6:00 to 18:00

Only child and family content shows would be transmitted in the Ecuadorian TV between 06:00 to 18:00, as stipulated in the regulations stated by the Council for the Regulation and Development of Information and Communication (Cordicom for its Spanish acronym).

The television stations would not be able to broadcast soap operas or shows for public over 12 years with violent, discriminatory or sexually explicit content.

Three slots are established according to their contents. Type A, for 0-12 years old children, from 06:00 to 18:00; type B, 12 to 18 years old public accompanied by an adult, from 18:00 to 22:00. The last strip will be from 22:00 to 06:00 for people of over 18 years old.

The regulation also states that from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, any scenes of violence and sex, drugs or apology to death shall not be broadcast.
