Denied demand to Isaias in U.S. Court

The lawsuit filed by the brothers William and Roberto Isaías Dassum, former owners and managers of Filanbanco, against Ecuador, was denied, and the Court of the Southern District of New York in United States.notified it.

The Court welcomed the request for the defence of the Ecuadorian State and refused to processing  the demand due to lack of jurisdiction.

The Isaias tried to collect to Ecuador the damages of $1 billion plus interest, costs and fees. The lawsuit was filed on 14 June, 2013 through the businesses of William and Roberto Isaías Dassum.
