Transboundary basket did not work, they say in Tulcán

A little over a month of the application of the transboundary basket, only 26 of 5,500 traders have introduced to the country 60 of different values, which does not even reach 1%, according to the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae).
The measure, in force since October 15, allows traders to import from Colombia without paying tariffs and safeguards technology products, televisions, cell phones, home appliances, tires, appliances and confectionery to commercialize them in Carchi.
Due to these figures the provincial authorities are saying that the measure has not been successful.
