Alleged FARC leader was arrested in Ecuador

The alleged killer of an African American community leader of Colombia was arrested yesterday by the Ecuadorian police, according to the Colombian Attorney.
“For the murder of Genaro Garcia, community leader of Tumaco, alias Juan Carlos Gordo has just been captured in Ecuador,” announced the Colombian Attorney in a statement.
The capture of the Colombian citizen Juan Carlos C. took place in a hotel in Guayaquil. This would be leader of the guerrilla Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC, communists), according to the same source.
A court in Tumaco, in the Nariño municipality, issued an arrest warrant against Juan Carlos C. on August 3rd by the death of the leader of black communities displaced by violence, Genaro Garcia, after being gunned down.
The FARC, in peace negotiations with the Colombian government since November 2012, recognized on August 24 from Havana, home to these dialogues, that members of the mobile column Daniel Aldana had killed Garcia.
In September, two members of the FARC were captured for the same case.
The department of Narino, where Garcia died, is on the border with our country and Colombian authorities consider it red light district due to the actions of rebel groups and criminal gangs engaged in drug trafficking and illegal mining.
It was planned that the prisoner was repatriated to his country yesterday. Until press time in Ecuador there were no official statements.
