The earthquake damaged 60 UPC and two commands in cantons of Manabi

The walls of the kitchen area of the National Police district building in Manta have serious effects and crackings, this scenario was observed yesterday in the premises of that institution.

Fernando Vallejo, police chief of the Manabi subzone, recognized that several infrastructures were seriously affected by the earthquake of last April 16, mainly in the district commands of Manta and Chone, as in Neighborhood Watch Unit (UVC) of Portoviejo.
“And the infraestructure of about 60 community police units and several patrol cars and motorcycles were affected by the fall of these walls,” said Vallejo.
Many of these structures were built in recent years. At present, he said that the Ministry of Interior and the General Command are coordinating a _ structural analysis to proceed to the empowerment of each affected unit
