Commission initiates today impeachment process againt Augusto Espinosa

The Audit Commission of the Assembly discusses today the request for impeachment against Minister of Education Augusto Espinosa.
The Council for Legislative Administration (CAL) gave way to the process after a meeting Monday afternoon.
According to the Organic Law of the Legislative Branch, this board must qualify the request and this includes being knowledgeable and verify compliance with the requirements, “otherwise it will be filed.”
Maria Jose Carrion, president of the Commission, confirmed this procedure and noted that “in the case of qualifying it” a chronogram of hearings will be established.
“We must be knowledgeable and there is an agenda to qualify or not what was raised by the Assemblymember, because that is the role of the Commission and if the process is qualified, investigations on the case will begin. It is not an individual resolution, it´s the Commission´s resolution,” he said.
