A national story with gaps

The Republican history of Ecuador seen from the eyes of the self-styled Citizen Revolution. Since yesterday, the Carondelet Palace has its own museum. Only the implementation contract cost $ 444,806.

The main protagonist: the outgoing president Rafael Correa. The gifts he received in the last 10 years, his decorations, medals and several versions of his book on local economy are displayed there.

Although there are also some notable ‘absences’. Hall 1 of the new museum is dedicated to the milestones that marked the republican life. There the original Constitutions of 1830, 1906, 1945 and the last one (2008) are exposed. The Magna Carta, drafted in Sangolquí in 1998, and identified with the ‘party-ocracy’ according to Correa, is not displayed. At least it was not, until yesterday, during the visit of the press.
