36.4% of US firms plan to invest in the region
Ecuadornews:
More than one in three US multinationals still regard developing markets in South America as central to their investment and corporate growth plans, a study revealed yesterday.
The main point of this investigation conducted by the Dutch service group TMF is that, although foreign direct investment (FDI) is declining in the world, 36.4% of US multinationals plan to invest in emerging markets of South America during 2017 and 2018.
Raimundo Diaz, the group’s regional director for the Americas, said that “despite global investment declines, it is encouraging that US companies still recognize the potential of the region. The study is based on the opinions of 250 “senior” executives and seeks to explore the motivations and challenges of multinationals to take their organizations to a new international market.
