The Vice President of Ecuador resigned for acts of corruption

María Alejandra Vicuña resigned on Tuesday from the Vice Presidency of the Republic, an office she held since January, when she was appointed by the National Assembly to replace Jorge Glas Espinel, condemned by the Odebrecht case.

“I submit the resignation to my position because I prefer that he can count on someone else to finally assume the great responsibilities he entrusted me,” said Vicuña in a letter published on Tuesday.

“The country does not deserve this instability so I submit the resignation to my position as vice president, I will not lend to be paid to rumors of cross death, resignation of the president or serious internal commotion of citizens!”Vicuña tweeted.
