Plenary requested a report on promotion for the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control

What is ‘happening’ with the electoral promotion of the 43 candidates to the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS) that will be elected in the sectionals of March 24 wants to know the National Electoral Council (CNE).
Last Thursday, with three votes in favor, it was decided that the operational areas of the CNE present a report on how the promotion of the candidates has been developed during the 34 days of the electoral campaign.
There they must “detail the novelties that could be found”, says the resolution.
The proponent of this request was the member José Cabrera, who believes that there is a “need to analyze the publicity of the candidates, which could eventually be in conflict with the provisions of the Organic Law of the Participation Council”, which establishes that its advertising is the sole responsibility of the CNE.
Cabrera believes that it must be analyzed if this stage complied with the legal procedures and the report must be known with “the speed of the case, and the plenary session must resolve what is pertinent in law”.
His colleague Luis Verdesoto also asked that this analysis be presented in the next two days to meet him in the next session or otherwise “it would not make sense,” he said, because there are eleven days until the campaign ends.
Counselor Esthela Acero abstained that the requirement of this report be addressed by the plenary. He argued that this should be done according to the electoral schedule by the inspection units.
