President of the Judiciary was arrested as part of the Metastasis operation
The president of the Judiciary, Wilman Terán, was arrested as part of the operation Metastasis, headed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Wilman Terán, president of the Judiciary, was arrested.
In its X account, the Prosecutor’s Office wrote: “An arrest warrant is executed against Wilman T., president of the @CJudicatura, within the framework of an investigation for alleged organized crime. According to official information, after completing the search at the home of Wilman Terán, officials from the Prosecutor’s Office and Criminalistics Office Police collected evidence such as documents, computers, cell phones and more than USD 25,000 in cash, in 100 and 20 bills.
In Chimborazo raids were carried out on the investigation’s properties. And in Santo Domingo, the offices of Emerson C., of the Judicial Unit, were raided.
Judicial Council speaks out
Through an official statement, from the Council of the Judiciary (CJ) a statement was shared regarding the arrest of the head of that entity, Wilman Terán. In the document they describe Terán’s arrest as “illegal and arbitrary” and reject what they consider to be of a “campaign of discredit and attack that has been carried out for several months against the judicial function.
The letter states that, from that institution, supports Terán and reiterates its confidence in the official detained early this Thursday, December 14, 2024.
In this regard, Fausto Murillo, member of the Judiciary Council, assured that “This is a statement from the president-vowel and does not represent me.” And he shared his position on X.
