A dusty land terminal, with potholes and toilets without faucets in Durán
Ecuadornews:
The metal pillars are dusty and in them hardly work three or four fans of the existing fourteen, there is a flat screen TV unused and the cables hang from it; in the bathroom, four urinals are closed with plastic covers, there is no door in the toilet cubicle and there is only water in a sink, two lack taps.
The turnstiles to go to the platforms of the Terrestrial Terminal of Durán are inoperative, without readers of bars to unblock them. Travelers pass through the door of users with reduced mobility and the record of how many passengers board buses of the transport cooperatives is carried by an employee, who takes notes in a notebook and saying “over here” prevents citizens from getting stuck in the jammed devices .
The passenger station shows deterioration, lack of maintenance and accumulates complaints, especially for potholes and toilets. The administration is in charge of the Transit Commission of Ecuador (CTE), but the Municipality manages to assume the management of the facilities inaugurated in July 2012 at a cost of $ 2.9 million.

“We expect the financial statements that allow us to determine expenditures, expenditures …”, said the official and added that outlined goals in the short, medium and long term with a view to “change the face” of the terminal, located at km 3.5 of the avenue Nicolás Lapentti.
A day earlier, on Sunday 11, the Municipality of Durán published on Facebook that had inspected the facilities and that within the request to the CTE to assume the management of the terminal was expected at the end of this month to finalize the transfer.
However, the governor José Francisco Cevallos, after a tour yesterday along with the executive director of the CTE, José Gálvez, announced the intervention of the infrastructure and said that “once transformed and in good condition, the delivery of the competences will be analyzed. and administration to the Cabildo (of Durán) “.
“This is not just a matter of silver, it’s a matter of caring, cleaning, promoting culture, not damaging things,” Cevallos said and said a study will be prepared, but the toilets will be changed urgently.
In 60 days it is expected to make improvements in the terminal that went into operation on June 19, 2012. The then President Rafael Correa inaugurated it almost a month later.
