A motivating civic day a month after the earthquake

The national flag flames incessantly with the sea breeze at the foot of the Pedernales pier, this Manabi county was close to the epicenter of the earthquake of April 16 that devastated this area in an 80%. The tricolor flag, of 10 x 15 meters, waves on high, between the desolate beach and the scene of houses reduced to rubble.
Yesterday, one month after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake, a symbolic act in which the national flag was hoisted 30 minutes high, was carried out in Pedernales. This was one of the events that occurred in the Manabi affected areas. In Manta, Portoviejo, Chone and other locations masses were celebrated at 18:58, the same time when the earthquake occurred.
In Pedernales, this civic minute brought together more than a hundred people. Interior Minister Jose Serrano; Governor of Manabi Xavier Santos; Pedernales Mayor Gabriel Alcivar, among other authorities attended the act.
