A new conflict is faced by the Government and the Institute of Social Security of the Armed Forces (ISSFA). As confirmed by Defense Minister Ricardo Patino, last May 10th the Finance Ministry debited $ 41 million from the military accounts due to the sale of 66 lots of land to the Ministry of Environment for the construction of the Samanes Park. the Institute asked the Ministry of Economy to pay outstanding debts for pension contributions and portfolio recovery.

In a letter dated May 12, 2016, addressed to Finance Minister Fausto Herrera, director general of the ISSFA Juan Francisco Vivero said that until that date, the amount reaches $ 361’160.161,50, so he ordered the transfer of resources in order to meet indemnities, mortuary expenses, severance payments, reimbursement of medicine for chronic patients, medical care, payment of reserve funds, housing loan benefits, etc.
