Agricultural organizations demand solutions for the agricultural sector
Ecuadornews:
The National Confederation of Agricultural Organizations (CONAGRO) today announced seven solutions to put an end to the current crisis in the agricultural sector of the country, and which hopes to be welcomed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).
President of Conagro Guillermo Rosero explained that, in the first place, they demand that the State implements a sustained public policy for the integral development of the agricultural sector, the security and the food sovereignty. Second, they demand that the MAG, through the National Storage Unit, buys local production at the official price.
In addition, they propose financial amnesty.
As a fourth point, they request the implementation of specialized laboratories and the creation of a Germplasm Bank. They also demand the elimination of agrochemical kits, as they claim they are of poor quality and damage the soil.
They also request access to technology and technical assistance, an audit to the Undersecretariat of Lands and the National Land Plan for the last 10 years and, finally, a reengineering of the Ministry of Agriculture. (I)
