Agrocalidad does not present official notification about banana with alleged infestation of flies

The entity clarified that “(the flies) are not a pest associated with the cultivation of bananas in any of its phases.”

According to the press service of Roseljoznadzor, the entity responsible for sanitary control of Russia, the entry of 25 tons of infected bananas was prevented, which arrived this week at the Russian port of Novorossiysk, southwest of Russia and one of the main ports of the sea Black.

As a result of the inspection of the banana by personnel of the Interregional Directorate of the South of Roseljoznadzor, an object of quarantine was identified: a lively polyphagous humpback fly.
