Alianza PAIS suspends Fernando Bustamante for six months
The rights as permanent member of Alianza PAIS (AP) will be suspended for the Assemblyman of the ruling party, Fernando Bustamante, for six months.
The Ethics Commission of this political organization further decided that his alternate Victoria Paredes is appointed for a month in the seat. And he was also excluded as a member of the International Relations Commission of AP, confirmed yesterday the legislator and head of bloc, Fausto Cayambe.
The measure was taken after Bustamante, president of the Commission of Sovereignty and International Relations of the Legislative branch, refrained from voting for the fifteen constitutional amendments, adopted on December 4.
Bustamante was concerned about the activities of the armed forces on internal security, the indefinite presidential reelection, communication as a public service and the reduction of allocations to local governments. “It was a moment in which he had to bear witness to my values even though I would be violating the party discipline and I did it,” he said in an interview with daily El Universo.
