The Constitutional Court (CC) ‘verifies’ today if the draft amendments to the Constitution approved by the Assembly, on December 3, are framed within the ruling that it issued for that procedure.
The plenary will know the topic at the regular session the President of the CC, Alfredo Ruiz, has convened from 09:30.
According to the institutional web page, the agenda contains ten points; the sixth is the “verification of compliance with the judgments,” and six are referred there.
The 0001-14-RC code refers to the case of the amendments.
In the Alianza PAIS bloc, that promoted the bill, there is no expectation on the ruling of the Court.
One of its coordinators, Assemblyman Fausto Cayambe, said that the regulation indicates that the agency must exercise a constitutional control “before and after” the opinion that made feasible the process.
