Jasu Montero, in the intensive care unit of the Luis Vernaza hospital
Posted On 16 Dec 2015
Singer Jasu Montero remains in the intensive care unit of the Luis Vernaza hospital of Guayaquil, since the night of December 11, a week after the domestic accident that caused injuries in 50% of her body.
The singer was initially assisted in the Kennedy Clinic, in Samborondon, after two pots of boiling water fell on her after a stumble, resulting in first and second degree burns.
A spokeswoman of the TV channel where Montero works said that the health situation of Janeth Susana Montero – the full name of the tropical music singer, member of Las Tres musical group,- is stable though delicate, since she has developed a pharyngitis and an anaemic condition. The treatment of the wounds, which produce blisters and are subjected to daily cures, determines the permanence of Jasu in intensive care, said Mayra Salazar, spokeswoman of the channel.
Patients with extensive burns are potential victims of changes in the lung structure. In addition, the loss of liquids alters the potassium, sodium, and calcium balance, which can result in anemia.
TC Mi Canal channel requested donations of blood type O positive in the blood bank of the Hospital. The TV network also launched a new audio of the singer and actress -antagonist of the series ‘Los hijos de Juan,’- in which she thanks all her fans for the messages of support. “When I got to the clinic I felt really bad, I was nervous. This is an unbearable pain,” she said.
