Alvarado assures that Secom will not participate in Correa’s campaign
Fernando Alvarado, on declarations to Radio Cristal, said that he will request 30 days of vacations starting on next January 15 to participate in the election campaign of the candidate President seeking reelection, Rafael Correa.
He also announced that the Ministry of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) “will withdraw completely from that field. We are only a government broadcaster“.

The communications secretary said that in the last meeting held with the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Domingo Paredes, it was clarified that the President “has not ordered any public media broadcast in favor of the nomination of the Head of State.”
And blamed seized channels of being the authors of broadcasting the summaries of the ruling party. “The President of the CNE understood, though, that we have the right to report the activities of government.“
