Ana Paula: “I still don’t believe it”
Ecuadornews:

She is no longer just the daughter of presenter Anita Buljubasich and musician Nerio David. In more than three years of career, the actress and singer Ana Paula, 22, shines with her own light. She studied Scenic Communication but left it because work and travel did not allow her to do everything at the same time.
She is part of TC Calle Amores’ telenovela, in which she gives life to Giovanna; in addition to the Netflix series Go! Live your way, in which you play Martina. Although she has always been very thin, she confesses that she gained 15 pounds in Argentina.
We see her in TC in the role of a good girl …
I love my character in Calle Amores. Of all the roles I have done in theater and TV, Giovanna is my favorite, I have also taken the juice (laughs) and it is my daily break. I have many activities and I enjoy being someone else. It relaxes me and brings out the best in me. Giovanna is a good girl.
Will she continue until the end of the story?
I really do not know, I hope to be in the whole production. I entered with the condition that I could leave at any time for my work in the series Go! Live your way I love the team we have made, I learn a lot from working with experienced people and I enjoy sharing with new talent.
You stopped being just the daughter of Anita and Nerio David …
I have gained experience, it has been a process. Nobody will take away the 6 months I lived in Argentina and I was working for Netflix. I am their daughter and it is a blessing. I am no less an artist because I am the daughter of two great talents. I have had the fortune to be interviewed by communicators abroad and I have followers in other countries. The positive comments are from people from other parts and many of the negatives come from here. What a thing!
Speaking of the family, your sister Gabriela Nath goes with you everywhere, she’s your shadow…
She’s my best friend, public relations, producer … Working with her made us fight less (laughs). I am with a person of my absolute confidence, I know that Gabriela wants the best for me.
Do you lean more for singing than for acting?
Believe it or not, acting pulls me much more. When I started, I used to say that music was my thing, but I discovered on the way that I am in love with acting. I love putting myself in another person’s shoes. Acting always was my plan B, God opened the doors for me.
And in the musical thing there are surprises?
I have released 6 songs. I am holding meetings to launch solo and collaborative issues. So far I have only shared with Jonathan Luna in La muy muy.
With Jonathan Luna was there a lot of chemistry?
I saw him in a presentation and I said I wanted to work with him. Thank God it happened. I’m looking at others, but I’m reserving that to cause the same surprise I caused with Jonathan (laughs).
Mirella Cesa brought the Gaviota de Plata after her participation in the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 2018. Have you considered participating in this contest?
It’s not in my plans. I know it’s a great opportunity, but it’s not my goal right now. This year when Dayanara Peralta was there, many asked me to encourage myself too. I have other dreams, projects. I think big.
How did the opportunity to be part of the Netflix series arise?
In Argentina I studied at the academy of Sebastián Mellino, who is now my producer. There (in Buenos Aires) I did a casting with workshops of approximately two months. Little by little, the cast was preselected, with actors from different countries. They did not tell us in the same day who had stayed, he gave himself gradually. I suffered. They summoned three girls, including me. Then they announced to us which role we were going to interpret each one. That was the happiest day of my life. I am the first Ecuadorian in an original Netflix series and this is the first series of children and young people.
Surely they are very demanding …
Literally it is another level of work, with very professional and demanding people. I tried to get the most out of this experience in all the senses and to all the people, they are geniuses, they are the best in the same team. We form a family. I had no problems because I adapt easily to different places, what I find difficult is not being close to my loved ones. In the first season of 15 chapters I was able to develop several facets, singing, acting and dancing. I was in Argentina for five or six months. The second cycle is already here.
What doors does this series open for you?
They see it in 190 countries. Therefore, I still do not believe it, I have not heard in German, Portuguese (laughs). I always imagined what my internationalization would be like. I’m already living it, although I have not noticed. I love that people from different countries write to me on social networks.
Did they make demands?
My character Martina looks straight hair and I have horrible hair like that, I did not come out very graceful (laughs). I have natural curls. Since I’m skinny and my face is long, I look thinner with my straight hair. They also wanted me to change the color, to blond. Finally I stayed as a brunette.
After this achievement, what is the advice that your parents have given you?
Seeing your eyes full of pride, is my greatest satisfaction and a fulfilled dream. They tell me to always prepare, my mom always says that the higher you climb, the more humble you should be. That helps us keep our feet on the ground, but we must not stop dreaming. (I)
