The president still keeps confidential the figures adjustment prepared for the “difficult time”
There is no crisis, but there´s no money. The government is preparing a series of economic measures by the fall of tax revenues. In its 467 weekly address, President Rafael Correa gave clues of the new tax reform. Although, at present, these are diffuse.
From Morona Santiago, Correa stressed the need to generate additional resources before the falling prices of crude and declining revenues the country is experiencing.
Although he still does not talk about crisis, Correa said that the tax on beverages and cigarettes is one of the alternatives defined by the government and that will be ready in the coming days. But he did not give the details he had promised.(I)
