Assemblymembers request information to Minister Fernando Cordero about Dhruv helicopters
Some assembly members of the Commission on Sovereignty and International Relations are concerned about the collapses of the Dhruv helicopters (which were purchased from India) and ask the Defense Minister Fernando Cordero information about what happened, since they comment there was an investigation prior to the purchase.
Although Diego Salgado (CREO) requested in writing to the Commission to convene Cordero and the Commander of the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE for its Spanish acronym), Raúl Banderas, to a general commission to expose “sufficient information about the facts of the Dhruv that have collapsed and the technical status of the remaining three helicopters,” the council president, Fernando Bustamante, said they would first proceed firs to invite the minister.
In the Bureau, they also said that it must be clarified if the accidents are related to a lack of expertise of the pilots or manufacturing defects.
