Associated Press named Jennifer Lawrence as artist of the year
Jennifer Lawrence won the title of artist of the year 2013 in the annual survey that the Associated Press (AP) performs to its subscribers and members to select the most influential artist of entertainment and culture.
Seventy ballots were submitted by editors and news directors in the United States. Lawrence received 15 votes, beating out Miley Cyrus by a vote. Netflix came in third with 13 votes for having altered the landscape of TV with its format on-demand and its successful original series.
Lawrence, who at the beginning of the year won the Oscar for best actress. The Hunger Games sequel became a blockbuster hit and the actress ended the 2013 with her performance in American Hustle that so far has earned her nominations for the Golden Globes and the SAG awards.
