Atletico Junior’s pet died after being kicked by a player
The Emblematic owl of Atletico Juniors team of Colombia died after it was expelled from the soccer field with an unwarranted kick of Deportivo Pereira Panamanian player, Luis Moreno, a few minutes after the meeting.
Moreno, who immediately apologized publicly because of the facts, was subjected to a instance process by environmental officials where he had to sign a record that commits him not to return to mistreat any animal.
Besides this, Moreno will have to pay a fine ranging from 5 thousand to 100 thousand pesos and most likely he will have to serve 3 days prison sentence.
Moreno justifies his behavior because of the bad moment that is going through his team Deportivo Pereira after having 30 consecutive dates without a single victory.
The owl became the official pet of the Barranquilla team since it was living in the “Roberto Melendez” stadium roof.
