Obama talks in UN General Assembly

The United States President, Barack Obama addressed the 67th General Assembly in the UN to preserve the “growing wave of freedom” produced by the Arab spring. Once again Obama warned to Iran that he will prevent the development of a nuclear weapon.

During his speech, Obama urged the UN members to be strong and create a united front against violence;  he also emphasized the results obtained on the Arab spring. The North American leader pointed out  the recent attacks against the diplomatic missions of his country in the Arab world, after the broadcast of a video that mocks the prophet Mohammed and the Islam.

Obama ended his intervention mentioning the incident in the Benghazi Consulate that claimed the life of the United States ambassador Christopher Stevens saying that, “an assault on the ideals on which the United Nations was founded, to the notion that people can solve their differences peacefully.” AV
