Bayern Munich Defeated Real Madrid
Bayern Munich destroyed Real Madrid‘s dream of becoming Monarch in Europe for the tenth time in an epic penalty duel that left the score 2-1 (3-3 on global score).
The regulation time and another extra 30 minutes favored the 2-1 for Real Madrid pair of Cristiano Ronaldo goals at the 6th and 14thminute. Arjen Robben scored for Bayern with a penalty kick at the 27th minute, an event that turned the game.
In definition Cristiano Ronaldo kicked the first penalty of Madrid and Neuer stopped him jumping to his right side. The German goalkeeper also covered Kaka’s second penalty, wich went to the same spot as Ronaldo’s, while Ramos threw his penalty several meters over the goal area.
Iker Casillas did his best to rescue the Merengues and interrupted the shooting of Toni Kroos and Philipp Lahm, but could do nothing against David Alaba,Mario Gomez and Bastian Schweinsteiger shots. Xabi Alonso scored the only penalty of Real Madrid.
Bayern will try to become the first team to win the Champions League in their own stadium since Real Madrid in 1957, when they host Chelsea at the end of next May 19, in Munich. (ARL)
