Businessmen propose to buy the customer portfolio of Biess
According to Henry Kronfle, president of the Ecuadorian Business Committee, both national banks and foreign banks would be interested in acquiring the portfolio (loans) of the Bank of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (Biess), by being highly profitable and of effective capacity of payment.
Kronfle said that this proposal “aims to shield dollarization, to invigorate the economy, create more jobs, increase productivity, improve exports and gain purchasing power.”
The joint work of the government with the private sector has a definite agenda, in which a meeting with President Rafael Correa and the ministers will be set.
The objective of this proposal is to streamline the procedures, to eliminate the taxes imposed by government advertising, seek a trade agreement with the United States, the tax exemption on dollars entering the country and attract foreign investment.
