Carcinogenic Substances in Meat and Eggs from Germany
4700 German farms have suspended the sale of meat and eggs after discovering that some of the foods which chickens and pigs eat contain dioxin -a carcinogenic substance in large quantities-. So far, in the country it was founded 150,000 tons of contaminated animal foods.
The German Ministry of Agriculture assured that there is no information about people with illness caused by eating eggs or meat; however it is prohibited the distribution of the products until verify that the consumption of the products does not affect human health.
The situation has caused that Germany’s exports get affected, in South Korea the sale of poultry and pigs from Germany, have been banned, while Holland and England are investigating the magnitude of contamination in products.
Farmers demand a compensation for the losses that the situation causes.
